PLATEAU HUMANITARIAN MINISTRY DEFENDS 2027 BUDGET PROPOSAL

The Plateau State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs on Monday 5 October 2026  attended the 2027 budget defence/discussion at the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning Joseph Gomwalk Secretariat, Jos. 
The Permanent Secretary of the ministry Mr Nanman Jonah Parbong who represented the Hon Commissioner Dr(Mrs) Kachollom Gang expressed satisfaction with the whole process as the recurrent and capital expenditure of the ministry was streamlined. 

He noted being a new ministry they  didn't have actuals and could only envisage and so trying to be modest in their projections. 
Mr Parbong commended the budget committee for their thorough job and expressed gratitude to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Esq for establishing the ministry which is people centred and aimed at bringing succour to citizens of the state

Three sisters who drowned in the sea in Brighton collectively decided to end their own lives, a coroner has ruled. The bodies of Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, all from London, were recovered from the sea off Brighton in the early hours of 13 May. An inquest into their deaths heard on Thursday that in the days before they died, the three women made a trip together to Birmingham to visit the former home of their mother, who died by drowning in 2010. The inquest at Woodvale coroner’s court in Brighton heard that the sisters travelled by taxi to Birmingham on 11 May and were dropped off at 11.36pm at Linton Walk. The address is close to Brookvale Park Lake, where their mother, Janice Adetoro, died. They were picked up to return to the flat they lived in together in Greenford, west London, at 1.28am on 12 May. Jos South/ Jos East reps seat - Court orders fresh APC primaries in 10 Plateau wards

The Federal High Court sitting in Jos on Friday  ordered the All Progressives Congress, APC, to conduct fresh primary elections in 10 wards of Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency over alleged irregularities in the party's primary. Justice Dorcas Agishi, who delivered the judgement in a suit instituted by Hon. Esther Bitrus Danboyi against Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, also awarded N500,000 cost against each of the three defendants. The order followed Danboyi's challenge to the APC primary election which produced Bagos as the party's candidate for the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections. Yobe Police Arrest 9-Year-Old Boy For Killing His 2 Stepmothers & 2 Brothers

The Yobe State Police Command has arrested a nine-year-old boy over the alleged killing of four family members in Rugan Badali community, Karasuwa Local Council of the state. The police said the child allegedly set fire to the family house while his two stepmothers and two younger brothers were asleep, resulting in their deaths. The suspect was said to have committed the act after his father flogged him over an allegation that he had stolen a fowl. Speaking with journalists in Damaturu yesterday, the suspect, whose name was withheld because of his age, allegedly confessed to setting the house ablaze. He said he bought matches the following day and set fire to the house. “I carried one of our fowls to sell. People reported me to my father, and I was beaten. The following day, I bought N50 worth of matches in the neighbourhood.
